INSTITUTE OF ASTROPHYSICS OF THE CANARY ISLANDS (IAC)

It has taken place on the island of La Palma, an event for the new appointment of the Centre for Astrophysics (CALP) as CALP-Francisco Sánchez, of the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC). It has been recalled how in a short time, the location of the IAC was in hostile ships, to be a core of international excellence composed of three headquarters and two observatories, managing to give the island the deserved recognition, in which international projects can be carried out. The event was attended by, among other authorities, the founding director of the IAC, Francisco Sánchez; the deputy director of the IAC, Casiana Muñoz Tuñón; the Minister of Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, Nieves Lady Barreto, the first vice-president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Juan Ramón Felipe San Antonio, and the Special Commissariat for the Reconstruction of the island of La Palma, Héctor Izquierdo Triana.
