During the meeting, the Government wants to study the date of the reopening of the visits of the Pazo de Mearas. At first, it is planned that it is only for the exterior of the property, waiting for the security and conditioning works inside the pazo, to allow the reopening of the building to the public.
It will also address the creation of a commission of experts who will be responsible for reflecting on the story and future uses of the Pazo de Mearas and the realization of an exhibition that reflects the whole history of this emblematic building, since it was commissioned in 1893 by the writer Emilia Pardo Bazán.
This is the second time that the Technical Commission of the Pazo de Mevas has met. The first meeting was held for its constitution, on December 15, once the Pazo de Mearas became a provisional execution of public ownership. It was the First Vice-President, Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Carmen Calvo, who proposed the creation of this Technical Commission to the administrations interested in the pazo on December 9, following the judicial decision that gives ownership of the property to State Heritage.
The meeting will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, 19 January, at 12.30 p.m., by videoconference.
A press release will be distributed at the end of the meeting.
