Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, Madrid
Victorino Mayoral explained to the Secretary of State the research project that his foundation has developed to support the incorporation of Democratic Memory into the school curriculum. Since the foundation they assure that they have been motivated by the approval by the Council of Ministers of the Preliminary Draft Law of Democratic Memory, which establishes that the Spanish educational system will include among its purposes the knowledge of Spanish history and democratic memory and the fight for democratic values and freedoms. To this end, according to this regulation, the curricular contents for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate will be updated.
In this context, the Cives Foundation wants to promote a research project that articulates the various multidisciplinary perspectives necessary in an educational research for the implementation of Democratic Memory in the curriculum, both in its curricular and transversal dimensions.
The Secretary of State has expressed his agreement with this collaboration and has proposed to study the possible signing of a collaboration agreement between both entities to continue developing joint activities.
