Activities carried out within the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the death of Azaña in exile.
Within the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the death of Manuel Azaña in exile, the Café Azaña cycle will be developed, in which historians, representatives of the world of the University, literature, the arts or politics will help to know better both the facet of Manuel Azaña as a politician and his activity as an intellectual.
The Cervantes Institute, the Student Residence, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the National Library of Spain and the Prado Museum are going to host these meetings, which will be enriched by the development of various artistic actions related to the theme of each of them.
The first of these activities will be held on January 20 at the headquarters of Instituto Cervantes in Madrid under the title Azaña and culture as a political vocation. José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, former president of the government, and journalist and writer Angélica Tanarro will participate in this meeting. On this occasion, the planned artistic action will be carried out by the cellist Pilar Ordóñez.
This activity has a limited capacity and with reserve space. However, the colloquium will be streamed through the direct channel of the Cervantes Institute and on its Youtube Channel.
