The RTVE program "Weekly Report" brings us closer to the pain of Spanish exile and concentration camps through "Mauthausen's Spanish Memory". The report interviewed Juan Aznar, one of the last Spanish survivors of the Nazi concentration camps, at his home in Paris. This week he turned 101 years old, but he still needs to find meaning in the suffering he experienced and to recover, every day, the humanity that took away Nazi barbarity. In Mauthausen, 4,435 Spanish Republicans deported by the Vichy government died, although of many of them there was not even a judicial record. A project of the Historical Memory is inscribing them in the civil registry, to take them out of oblivion and pay tribute to them. The story of Juan Aznar is also the memory of all of them.
