“The Spanish Embassy in Thailand has been in contact from the outset with the patient and his family,” says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation regarding the situation of a 36-year-old neighbor from San Sebastian who suffered acute pancreatitis and had to enter the ICU of a hospital in Bangkok. The Delegate of the Government in the Basque Country, Marisol Garmendia, is in permanent contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation to help as much as possible and follow the evolution of the case.
“The Spanish Embassy in Bangkok”, explains the Ministry, “has been following the case of the Spanish for about a month, since he was informed of his health. This citizen, who has insurance, is admitted to the Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok, one of the best in the country. Since then, his diagnosis and treatment have been continuously monitored, and all efforts have been made within his reach and within the competence of the Embassy.”
“The Embassy,” adds the Ministry, “has been in contact from the outset with the patient and his family, both by phone and by email, and is providing all possible assistance. This contact remains open, as are the efforts.”
