- The illegal substance was transported in a vehicle taken from Spain to France, using the border crossing of Irun
The Civil Guard of Gipuzkoa last week detained a person as an alleged perpetrator of crimes against public health, vehicle theft, falsification of license plates, driving without a driving license and irregular stay in the national territory.
The incident took place on the AP 8 Motorway, in the municipality of Oiartzun (Gipuzkoa), when civil guards of the prosecutor’s and border patrols proceeded to identify a vehicle driven by a person on his way to France.
When inspecting the car, the agents found inside it 10 rounds of hashish with a total weight of 357 kilograms of drug. They were also able to verify that the vehicle was carrying false license plates and that it had been stolen in France last November.
During the identification of the 25-year-old detainee, it was possible to verify that he did not have a driving licence in Spain and that he had entered Colombian territory illegally, for which he was placed at the disposal of the Irun Guard Court (Gipuzkoa), which ordered him to be imprisoned.
