The offices of the State Tax Administration Agency –AEAT- in Navarre have become a new violet point of the Foral Community. This body thus joins the Government Delegation, the State Public Employment Service, pharmacies, petrol stations and the offices and points of the Youth Information Services Network of the Navarro Youth Institute throughout the Foral Community. In addition, some municipalities install points during their patron saint’s parties.
A “Violet Point” is an instrument promoted by the Ministry of Equality to involve the whole of society in the fight against gender violence and male violence. A sticker identifies these points as safe spaces for victims, where they can receive information and accompaniment if they need it. In turn, it includes a QR code linked to an informative guide.
In addition, joining this network involves the training in violence against women of the staff of the body designated to be part of the network. This training is carried out by the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women with the collaboration of the National Police and the Civil Guard. Such training includes issues such as types of violence against women, indicators of gender-based violence, or “Violet Dots” tools. The objective is for those responsible for these points to provide, upon request, information on the different specialized resources available to victims of violence against women and on how to access these resources.
This initiative is part of the Catalogue of Urgent Measures of the Improvement and Modernization Plan, promoted by different ministries of the Government of Spain, and represents a change of focus in public policies of care for victims, taking decisive steps to make visible the different violence against women and the involvement of society as a whole in their denunciation and eradication.
