- Francisco Lucas visited the headquarters of the Civil Guard of the town, met with its mayor and checked the investments of the Government of Spain in the Municipal Children's School and the Municipal Sports Pavilion
- “My goal is to know the status of the hundreds of projects funded by the central executive in each of our towns and cities,” he said.
14 October 2025. The Government delegate began a round of visits to the 45 municipalities of the Region today in Beniel “with the aim of knowing first-hand their situation, needs and checking the state of the multitude of projects committed by the Government of Spain in each of our towns and cities”, he said after meeting with Mari Carmen Morales, mayor of the town.
In this regard, Francisco Lucas has visited the Municipal Children's School and the Municipal Sports Pavilion, both beneficiaries of funds from the Spanish Government's Recovery Plan. “We have allocated more than 900,000 euros to this school for the creation of children’s places from 0 to 3 years of age from which more than 240 families have benefited,” he explained.
In addition, last summer 80,000 euros were allocated from the Recovery Plan to make important improvements in the center, such as the renovation of interior luminaire, painting, installation of hat elements and placement of a new parquet for children.
Subsequently, the government delegate visited the Municipal Sports Pavilion, in which the Government of Spain, through the Superior Sports Council, has invested 128,000 euros for the improvement of the energy efficiency of the pavilion. Thus, at the moment the existing boilers are being replaced, which will allow to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from 43 kilos per year to only 2, which means a saving of 94%.
“These are just two examples of the multitude of projects that the Government of Spain has committed, and for me it is a sample of how collaboration between administrations, collaboration between the local administration and the state administration, benefits and improves the lives of citizens, in this case those of Beniel,” added Lucas.
The government delegate also visited the headquarters of the Civil Guard of Beniel, the company HTBA and, finally, accompanied the Secretary of State for Agriculture, Begoña García, on his tour of the facilities of the Rosegar Group.
