- The Government delegate highlights the commitment of the Executive to improve the reconciliation of young women and families and strengthen the equity of the education system
- Mariola Guevara has visited the CEIP Monte Anaor de Alguazas, one of the 105 public centers in the Region that will offer new two-year places thanks to these funds

More than 40 million euros has been allocated by the Government of Spain for the creation of more than 3,000 public and free places of early childhood education in the Region of Murcia, has reported the Government delegate to the CEIP Monte Anaor de Alguazas, where she has presented the Plan for the Promotion of Schooling in the First Cycle of Childhood, to which the Central Executive dedicates more than 670 million euros until 2025 for the creation of more than 60,000 public and free places from 0 to 3 years throughout Spain.
“For me, as a teacher, it is a great pride to see that it is the support and policies of the Government of Spain that allows to sustain and enhance public and free education in the Region of Murcia, strengthen the equity of the educational system and, at the same time, improve the reconciliation of young women and families, especially those with fewer resources,” explained Mariola Guevara, who added that the promotion of schooling in the first cycle of Children is a priority for the Government of Spain, reflected in component 21 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
“Thanks to these funds, 105 public schools in the Region, including Monte Anaor, can offer more than 2,000 two-year places for the 2024/2025 academic year, and more than 1,500 in municipal children’s schools, among others,” said the Government delegate, who indicated that these funds have already been transferred to the Autonomous Community, which has until December 2025 to execute them properly.
Guevara has stated that the commitment of the Government of Spain to public education in the Region of Murcia is reflected in an investment of more than 220 million euros in the last three years for the development of different educational programs, such as those destined to Vocational Training, 100.3 million, financing of textbooks, 8.1 million, the most vulnerable students, 24.7 million, or the 47 million destined to the digitization of the educational system, among others.
“The support and contribution of the Government of Spain to public education is not exclusively financial, but is preceded by leadership and an unquestionable determination in the planning, design and promotion of programs and initiatives that then replicate as their own many regional governments,” concluded the delegate, who during the visit was accompanied by the mayor of the town, José Gabriel García, and the director of the center, José Luis Carbonell.
