February 28, 2024. The Minimum Vital Income in February reached 24,396 households and 83,812 beneficiaries in the Region of Murcia, 37,768 of them, minors, which represents 45% of the total beneficiaries. In addition, the benefits with Child Support Supplement reach 18,937.
This supplement is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
In 14,836 households, 60 per cent, the benefit holder is a woman, and in relation to the total number of beneficiaries, 43,802 are women, representing 52 per cent, and 39,995 are men. Since June 2020, and cumulatively, this benefit has reached 107,703 beneficiaries in the Region of Murcia. The gross amount of payroll in February amounts to 13,058,846.26 euros, and the gross amount accumulated since June 2020 amounts to 353,654,216.57 euros for households in the Region of Murcia.
It is the first time that the number of active IMV benefits is published at a certain time with the aim of providing more detailed information on the evolution of this benefit, which has an average amount of approximately 500 euros per household this month throughout Spain. This new statistic will be published monthly and includes the data of the monthly payroll, the accumulated data, as well as a complete dossier disaggregated by province, which includes disaggregation by types of households, amounts or holders of the benefit, among others.
In the last year, there has been a considerable increase in both the number of households and beneficiaries of the IMV throughout Spain, which add up the holder and the people who are part of their coexistence unit. In the case of households, it is received by 122,368 more than a year ago, which represents an increase of 28.13% compared to February 2023, while the number of beneficiaries shows a year-on-year variation of 34.75% with 430,519 more beneficiaries.
In cumulative terms since June 2020, when it was launched, the Minimum Vital Income has reached 773,654 households and benefited the 2,279,440 people who were part of them, largely children and adolescents, which represents 43.45% of the total beneficiaries. Overall, the accumulated payroll of the IMV since its inception is 9,650.7 million euros. In February, the amount was 346.4 million.
Female, Spanish and 45 years old
If we follow the characteristics of the owner, from the data published today it emerges that two thirds are women, specifically 66.6%. In addition, 82.3% of all holders are of Spanish nationality and their average age is 45 years, regardless of whether we find VMI holders of all age ranges from 24 years, including 10,304 with more than 65 years. In a large proportion, cohabitation units are homes with minors, specifically 66.1% have one or more of their components (368,672). Among them, there are 98,315 single-parent households, 26.7% of the number of families with minors. As for the profile of the group of beneficiaries in February, which includes both the holders and the rest of the members of their family unit, 53.5% are women and the presence of minors is very important: 688,794 of the beneficiaries (41.3%) are under 18 years of age, of which there are 183,690 children under 5 years of age. The average age of the beneficiaries is 28.1 years.
