Madrid, December 7, 2023. The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPD) has granted 3,549,780 euros for the creation of 146 new digital training centers in local entities. With this aid, from component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the State Network of Digital Training Centers will be expanded to 1,193 units. It is expected to benefit more than 55,500 people over 55 years of age and with a low level of training.
The initiative aims to train citizens in transversal digital skills, offering training opportunities regardless of the place of residence. All this so that you can carry out secure communications and transactions online, using your own electronic devices and familiarization or “first digital literacy”, as an instrument of new training and learning opportunities.
These grants will be intended for municipalities to make available to students a physical space in which the sessions are taught and guarantee the improvement of the qualification permanent requalification, as well as mentors and trainers.
The MEFPD plans to publish a new call soon worth 8.9 million euros to continue promoting this network
