March 28, 2022. The delegate of the Government, José Vélez, declared this morning that the support, determination and leadership of the Government of Spain has allowed to alleviate the moments of social, health and political emergency experienced during the last 4 years in the Region of Murcia and that only the projects, actions and investments of the Executive during this legislature have allowed to sustain the welfare state in our Region.
“The action of the Government of Spain is the only one that allows this Region to work, and I think it is important to insist on it so that citizens know the truth at a time when the populist drift undertaken by Mr. López Mire, to amend in two months what he has not done in four years, is reaching worrying levels of degradation,” he said.
Vélez has indicated that, thanks to these social policies of the Government of Spain, the average retirement pension has stood at 1,223 euros per month, 242 euros more than in 2018, and the increase in the minimum wage has benefited 100,900 workers. In addition, he added, more than 340,000 indefinite contracts have been signed, there are more than 626,000 new employees in Social Security, (68,000 more than in February 2018), 65,000 beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income and more than 73.6 million euros have been invested to scholarship 33,283 students.
“In addition, we have about 60,000 beneficiaries of the electric social bond and more than 34,000 free subscriptions of proximity and half distance issued in the Region of Murcia, and all this in a context in which the Government of Spain has allocated to the Region no less than 1.187 M€ for the deployment of investments of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan,” said Vélez.
The delegate of the Government reported that the agencies of the General Administration of the State are already executing in the Region of Murcia about 5,850 projects with more than 329 M€ of financing, and the Autonomous Community has received, until March 2023, 648 M€ through transfers agreed with the regional government itself in Sectorial Conference.
Vélez has assured that the political push and financial support of the Government of Spain is not accompanied by the necessary pace of execution by the government of López Mire, who has been asked to report what his government has actually executed and how much it has reached individuals and companies.
“In short, an extraordinary battery of measures, investments, aid, transfer of funds and tax reductions applied by the Government of Spain that show that our legislature, that of the Government of Spain in the Region of Murcia, did start in 2019, and continues today, unlike that of the regional president, which began two months ago coinciding with the pre-election campaign,” he has expanded.
The government delegate added that, as far as the Government of Spain is concerned, the legislature in the Region also closes with the last General Budgets, those of 2023, which allocate 481.5 M€ to the Region, with a growth of 25.3% in homogeneous terms compared to 2022, and which completely dismantle the only political strategy of the regional government during these four years, a child and victimist discourse, of permanent grievance and continuous disloyalty towards the government of Spain.
To conclude, Vélez has indicated that the current legislature can only be analyzed based on the tension, erosion and discreditworthiness to which the regional president has subjected our institutions and for a nefarious management that, once again, puts us in line with all the indicators of progress and social welfare.
“Even so, we have an exemplary citizenry whose exciting effort and behavior has also decisively contributed to minimizing the onslaughts of the worst moments lived in these 4 years,” he concluded.
