The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) has convened the prizes for Coexistence and Welfare Projects in the school environment for the academic year 2024-2025, in recognition of the effort made by non-university education centers that develop innovative projects of the coexistence plan.
As explained by the Provincial Director, Elena Fernández Treviño, school coexistence also has an important impact on the development of socioemotional skills. For this reason, he has stressed that these recognitions aim to improve school coexistence and educational success, prevent conflicts and resolve them peacefully in the educational centers that offer the teachings of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training Cycles, Special Education and Adult Education.
Beneficiaries
Fernández Treviño has explained that non-university educational centers supported with public funds, indicated in the first section, that develop innovative projects or actions focused on improving coexistence and the effective and realistic application of the plan of coexistence in the center during the 2024-2025 academic year, will be eligible for these awards.
In this way, it seeks to recognize and promote coexistence programs that develop activities aimed at:
a) Promote a culture of care and good treatment, the peaceful resolution of conflicts, the prevention of bullying, cyberbullying and any type of violence.
(b) To promote respect, tolerance and emotional well-being in educational establishments.
c) Encourage the participation of the educational community, especially students, in the construction of a positive center climate.
d) Create physical spaces that favor positive interaction between members of the educational community, especially students, ensuring a safe environment.
e) To promote links with associations and organizations in the environment in order to improve school coexistence.
Awards
According to the method by which it is chosen, prizes of € 7500 per center will be awarded. The prizes will be awarded in the following categories and modalities:
· Category 1: centers located in municipalities of up to 5,000 inhabitants.
o Modality A: centers supported with public funds of Infant and Primary Education.
o Modality B: centres supported by public Secondary Education funds, including centres providing vocational training courses and adult education centres.
· Category 2: centers located in municipalities of more than 5 000 inhabitants.
o Modality A: centers supported with public funds of Infant and Primary Education.
o Modality B: centres supported by public Secondary Education funds, including centres providing vocational training courses and adult education centres.
Submission of applications
The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 working days from the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official State Gazette.
