The Multipurpose Service Center for Elderly People of the Imserso in Melilla, popularly known as the Senior Citizens’ Residence, has today closed an intense week of activities on the occasion of the patron saint’s festivities in honor of the Virgin of Victory, bringing the Fair one more year to the residents and users of the center.
The final touch has been given by a special bingo fair, which has put the playful note to a programme in which the performance of the School of Flamenco, the Ballet of Colors, the Misa Asperera, the contest of Miss and Mister Residencia, the visit to the fairground with tasting of tapas, the performance of the Chorus Asperero and, every day, a snack with the flavour of a fair.
The closure was attended by the Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, together with the Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, and the Director of the Center, Ibrahim Molina, who accompanied the elders on this last holiday.
Moh stressed that “precisely in a week as important for the Melillense citizens as the Fair, the workers of the Nursing Home have turned around so that our seniors have been able to enjoy the taste and joy of the patron saint’s festivities”.
In this regard, the Delegate wanted to acknowledge and thank the magnificent work of the staff of the Center, highlighting “their effort, dedication and, above all, the enormous affection with which they have accompanied the users of the two centers during these special days.”
For her part, the Territorial Director, Verónica Aznar, has highlighted the high participation in the different activities, highlighting that “they have been days full of coexistence and joy, in which our elders have felt protagonists of the Fair”.
The Director of the Center, Ibrahim Molina, has stressed that the programming “responds to a demand of the residents and relatives themselves” and has insisted that the objective is that the elderly “feel the Fair as their own, opening the center to the social life of the city and promoting their active participation”.
With this closure, the Residence of Seniors of the Imserso concludes a week in which, one more year, the Melilla Fair has been lived with intensity, enthusiasm and joy inside and outside the residence.
