The young Melillense Mustafa Salama Halifa, student of the Higher Degree Training Course in Cabinetmaking at the School of Art of Melilla (promotion 2022-2024), has been selected as a finalist in the Josep Albert Mestre Awards for Plastic Arts and Design.
The jury, meeting on September 18 at the Zaragoza School of Art, decided to award the corresponding awards to the different categories and select the works that will make up the national itinerant exhibition, among which is the Salama project, entitled MSH20.
These awards recognize the best final projects carried out in Art Schools throughout Spain, highlighting the excellence, innovation and talent of the students of artistic teachings.
The Provincial Director of Education, Elena Fernández Treviño, has assured that “it is great news for Melilla and for the educational field. Recognitions like this place in value the effort of the students, the dedication of the teachers and the fundamental role of artistic teachings in the formation of new talents.”
These awards, to which projects from all the Schools of Art and Design of the national territory have been presented, aim to constitute an annual sample of the excellence of the work carried out in the Schools managed with public funds, offering an overview of the best proposals and achievements of future plastic creators and designers. The selection of projects is based on their quality, as well as on the innovation and creativity of the proposal.
