The Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, and the Provincial Director of Education, Elena Fernández Treviño, held a working meeting this morning with the aim of coordinating and organizing the 2025/2026 academic year in the city.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the Head of the Educational Programs Unit (UPE) of the Provincial Directorate, María Victoria Menchacatorre, and the advisor Antonia Cabrera, issues related to the planning of educational centers, the incorporation of teachers, the programs of support to the students and the necessary measures to ensure a normal and in the best conditions, both in Infant and Primary and in Secondary and Vocational Training have been addressed.
One of the novelties of this year is the implementation of the catering service in the CEIP Encarna León that joins the CEIP León Solá and the CEE Reina Sofía, although the objective is to make a study so that the next school year can offer this service in all the primary schools.
Today’s meeting has served to address the reinforcement of the Employment Plans for Education in our city, given that in this edition the educational project has about 650 people of different profiles who will implement and reinforce the activities in the centers.
This year the centers will have profiles such as Early Childhood or Primary Education teachers, physiotherapists, communicative mediators, social integrators, social educators…
But also, they will continue to have other profiles, such as the ordinance, cleaning staff or the different trades, which will be distributed among the different educational centers.
The meeting, which took place in the Government Delegation, has also served to advance on the meeting that Moh Y Fernández Treviño will hold together with the directors and directors of the different centers to launch the academic year 2025-2026 or to address the complementary activities that will be carried out throughout the year in the different educational centers of Melilla, such as talks or workshops on equality or road education among other subjects.
Public and quality education
Moh has stressed the importance of “working together and in advance so that the academic year starts with all the guarantees, ensuring a quality public education for our children and young people.”
For his part, Fernández Treviño stressed that the Provincial Directorate of Education “is finalizing all the necessary planning, with special attention to human and material resources, as well as educational support programs, to respond to the needs of the centers and students.”
Both leaders have agreed that education is a priority for the Government of Spain and that coordinated work between the institutions is essential to guarantee equal opportunities and the continuous improvement of the educational system in Melilla.
