The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) of Melilla has reported that on Thursday, March 27, the Procedure for the admission of students to public and private schools in the city of Melilla began for the 2025/2026 academic year. As reported by the Provincial Director, Elena Fernández Treviño, the deadline for submitting applications will be open until April 30. The recipients are students who join the educational system for the first time - born in 2022 -, who choose a secondary school other than the one assigned in the enrollment process or who want to change schools to attend the same or another school.
Accreditation and rating
For the accreditation of the fulfillment of the requirements of schooling the ID, passport or NIE of the student (compulsory from the age of 14), and of the parents/guardians on both sides; the family book that shows all the members of the family unit; and the certificate of full family collective registration (compulsory in case of having ID/NIE), certificate of residence issued by the Social Services or residence accredited by other means of proof admitted in Law.
For the purposes of baccalaureate, the interested parties may provide proof of income, proof of work at the school, proof of disability, proof of gender violence, for victims of terrorism, proof of transfer of the family unit due to forced mobility, certificate of large family, proof of single-parent family, certificate of family placement, certificate of multiple birth, certificate of the status of a high-level sportsman.
Submission of requests
Applications should preferably be submitted electronically via the following link: https://www.educacionfpydeportes.gob.es/mc/fenicia/comunicacion/blog/admision-curso25-26.html. Likewise, it can be delivered on paper in person at the educational center chosen as the first option.
In case of not being able to present the applications through the above channels, they can also be presented in the Provincial Directorate of the MEFPyD requesting prior appointment (https://ssweb.seap.minhap.es/icpplus/citar?org=MEFP).
Applications and writings may be submitted in any of the units contemplated in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
Inquiries about the procedure can be made at schools or at the Admission Guarantee Commission Headquarters. The consultations addressed to the Headquarters of the Admission Guarantee Commission may be carried out at the offices located at Calle Paseo de Ronda, nº 11 (Old Pablo Montesinos School); or by telephone at 952074019.
Admissions process schedule
The Provincial Director has reported on the timetable of the admission process for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- Deadline for submission of applications: From March 27 to April 30, 2025.
- Baremation of requests by the centers: May 20, 2025.
- Publication of provisional lists of admitted and excluded persons by the centres: May 22, 2025.
- Claim to provisional listings. 23, 26 and 27 May 2025.
- Publication of definitive lists of admitted. May 30, 2025.
- Sending unattended requests to the Guarantee Commission: May 30, 2025.
- The Admission Guarantee Commission publishes the provisional list of students assigned to schools that have not been admitted in the first phase of the regular procedure. The Commission makes public the list of centers that have vacancies for families to request a new center. June 6, 2025.
- Claims to the provisional lists of the Admission Guarantee Commission or to make a complementary request (exclusively those that have not obtained a place in any of the centers requested). 10, 11 and 12 June 2025.
- The Guarantee Commission publishes the final list of students assigned to schools that have not been admitted in the first phase of the regular process. June 19, 2025.
- Publication of requests out of time, duplicated, or with errors. June 26, 2025.
Enrollment calendar
Finally, Fernández Treviño has warned that all students who have obtained a school position must enrol in the assigned center. Otherwise, he loses the school position.
The term for registration is:
- Early Childhood and Primary Education. From 12th to 27th June 2025.
- Compulsory Secondary Education. From June 27 to July 14, 2025.
