The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) and the City of Melilla have signed an agreement for the technical support of students with serious difficulties of autonomy enrolled in schools supported with public funds during the 2024-2025 school year.
As explained by the Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel, the object of the agreement is to concretize the technical support to the educational centers maintained with public funds in the City and will be carried out through the hiring, minimum, of 25 Technicians in Attention to People in Situation of Dependency or equivalent, who will perform the functions that are their own from their hiring until the end of the course 2024-2025 with 20 hours a week of work.
“After the implementation of the Agreement, many educational centers will have this reinforcement for the attention of students who require it,” said Berbel, who explained that the City will finance the cost of the aforementioned educational reinforcement for an initial amount of 642,000 euros and that the Provincial Directorate of Education will establish the guidelines for the actions of the aforementioned twenty-five Technicians in Attention to People in Situations of Dependency or equivalent and the specific tasks of support to the teachers in charge of teaching in the classrooms. It will also establish the distribution of the aforementioned personnel between the different educational centers, according to the needs of the same.
