The Social Centre for the Elderly of El Imserso has today hosted the central event of its 20th anniversary in the service of the Melillense citizens with a day full of activities and recognitions where authorities, workers of the centre, users and family members have participated.
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, presided over the event, in which she was accompanied by the Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, and the Director of the center, Ramón Paqué, as well as various representatives of the General Administration of the State, such as the Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel; the Provincial Director of the SEPE, Jorge Vera; or the Head of the Unit Against Gender Violence, Laura Segura, among others.
Francisca Coll and José Ramón Moya, both former Territorial Directors of Imserso, as well as former workers of the center, who have joined this celebration, have also wanted to be present.
The center has hosted a meal, after which the attendees have sung the ‘happy birthday’ and the authorities have proceeded to cut a cake that was crowned with candles that formed the number 20.
A day in which the words of thanks and congratulations for these two decades of life in the city have not been lacking, both from the Delegate of the Government, and from the head of the Imserso in our city as well as the vice-president of the Governing Board of the center, María Luisa, who on behalf of all the partners and users of the center, has dedicated a few words of affection and celebration to all the attendees.
The Center has awarded several users “for their involvement and dedication to the center, for the trajectory in it, as well as for representing older people.” “Infinite arguments and reasons” have made them worthy of a plaque with which it has been tried to thank them for their “affection and dedication, commitment and enthusiasm”.
There has also been a tribute to all the professionals who make possible the different services carried out by the Social Center, who, in addition, have been thanked for the affection, the company, the support and “the care of the greatest of the treasures that the center has”, which is none other than the elderly. All of them have been given a desk board that lights up “that will always help you remember the gratitude of the Center for your professionalism and dedication”.
The Directorate has also had its recognition today. Thus, the workers of the center have given a plaque to Ramón Paqué for his 20 years at the head of the Social Center for Seniors in recognition of his enormous work and dedication, and Verónica Aznar has received a painting that has been made by users in the painting workshops.
The day also served to pay tribute to the La Caixa Foundation, thanks to which the center can enjoy workshops and training throughout the year; to the Provincial Directorate of Education, representing the educational community of the city, who have participated in the intergenerational projects, filling the center with children and adults and activities “creating an atmosphere of life, affection and tenderness that we still keep deep inside”; as well as to Aspanies Full inclusion Melilla “who for many years have been filling our center with enthusiasm, perseverance, joy and color”.
