The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) has called for grants for the acquisition of textbooks and educational material in computer science for students enrolled in Spanish schools abroad, in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla and in the Centre for the Innovation and Development of Distance Education in the academic year 2024-2025.
The Provincial Director of the MEFPyD of Melilla, Juan Ángel Berbel, explained that more than 12,000 students in our city will be able to benefit from this aid that represents an individual amount of 115 euros in competitive competition.
The interested parties must complete the application through the form accessible on the internet at the address www.educacionyfp.gob.es through the electronic headquarters of the MEFPyD and the deadline for the submission of applications will be from 9:00 a.m. on May 13 to 15:00 a.m. on July 25, 2024.
“As a novelty, this call carries out an update of the family income thresholds that are taken into account to obtain the status of beneficiary; specifically, these thresholds are increased by 5 percent, in order to respond to the nominal increases in income of families, particularly those associated with the minimum interprofessional salary and the cost of living since the last updates,” he explained.
In addition, as Berbel has indicated, the maximum number of grants to be granted is increased and new developments are introduced in the method of distributing them in the event that the total number of applicants is greater than the number of grants called for, as the territorialised quotas are eliminated, a measure that contributes to the establishment of a more equitable distribution system.
To be a beneficiary of this aid, applicants must meet the requirements of being enrolled in any of the courses of Primary Education or Compulsory Secondary Education in the academic year 2024-2025, in a teaching center supported with public funds within the scope of application of this call, not repeating course, belonging to a family unit whose income in the year 2023 does not exceed the income threshold established in article 4 of this call or being students who are in accredited foster care, being victims or children under 25 years of age of victims of gender violence, or victims of terrorism.
