Last week there was a meeting of the institutional table with which the monitoring of the program coordinated by “Caixa Proinfantil” is carried out in the Real neighborhood, where tasks of educational support, leisure and free time, psychotherapeutic care as well as workshops and colonies for boys and girls are carried out.
This table is composed of representatives of the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) of Melilla, INGESA, Melilla Welcomes, Social Services of the Autonomous City and the “La Caixa” Foundation and meet annually to share the results of the work carried out with the families of this neighborhood.
It currently serves 50 families and 136 children in the El Real neighborhood and has a budget of 100,000 euros per year, a budget that in addition to covering the costs of the aforementioned tasks is used to distribute purse cards, school supplies, hearing aids or glasses, among the most needy families.
The program has a technical table, coordinated by Melilla Welcomes, which meets on a regular basis in which the coordinator of the Center for Integral Care of Families, the social worker of the Health Center of the area, the teachers of Community Services of the centers IES "Miguel Fernández", the CEIP "Real" and the CEIP "Pedro de Estopiñán" participate on a permanent basis.
