The Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel, has announced that from the next course, the curricula of all training cycles and all their levels, Basic, Middle and Higher Vocational Training (FP), are modified, incorporating training practices in companies from the first course.
The most relevant modifications focus on the time load of the professional modules, incorporation of new modules in sustainability and digitalization and the disappearance of the Training and Career Guidance module (FOL), being replaced by a personalized itinerary for employability.
In addition, the assessment of the students incorporates the concept of “challenge” and everyone must carry out an intermodular project, a module that until now was only included in the higher grades.
On the other hand, from January 1, all VET students who carry out training practices in companies will pay social security contributions, a novelty with which it is intended to favor the students by recognizing their unpaid hours worked.
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) plans to publish in the Official State Gazette (BOE) as soon as possible the various orders that regulate the organizational aspects of all training cycles, so that the centres can start the course with the new legislation.
Last week, representatives of the MEFPyD visited Melilla to meet with the Provincial Director, Juan Ángel Berbel, inspection and UPE, as well as directors and management teams of secondary schools to present the modifications that emerged after the publication of RD 659/2023, which regulates the new Vocational Training. The Assistant Director-General for Training and Innovation, Félix Martin, the Assistant Director-General for Planning and Management, Yolanda González and the Technical Advisor, Laura Moreno, explained the most relevant aspects of the reform.
The meeting took place at the CIFP “Reina Victoria Eugenia”, where the students of the Training Program of “Bakery and pastry activities” entertained them with a breakfast.
