The Ministry of Equality has recognized the work of the Coordination Units Against Violence Against Women of the Government Delegations “for their work of extraordinary value in the fight against gender violence.”
The event, which was attended by the Head of the Unit of Melilla, Laura Segura, took place yesterday afternoon at the Condeduque Contemporary Culture Center of Madrid, and was presided over by the new Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo.
This 20th edition of the awards and mentions of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was also attended by the Government Delegate against Gender Violence, Victoria Rosell, and a large institutional representation, such as the President of Congress, Francina Armengol; or the Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz, among others.
The recognition ceremony has served to award several awards both to people, projects, and institutions, which, during the year 2023, have been recognized for their work in different areas in the fight against male violence, among them, to the Women's National Football Team for its commitment against sexual violence and abuse of power, or the platform 'I do believe you' of 'protective mothers in the category 'Social movement in defense of equality and against gender violence'.
