Delegation, through Tragsa, undertakes maintenance and conservation work on the beaches and the Melillense coast

• The homogeneous redistribution of the sand on the beaches of the Horse, Hippodrome and Horcas Coloradas is being carried out

The Functional Development Area of the Government Delegation in Melilla, through the public company Tragsa, is undertaking maintenance and conservation work on the beaches and the coast of Melilla.

Thus, with a budget of 26,600 euros and a period of 20 days, the redistribution and transport of sands between the Playa de la Hipica and the Hipodromo/Los Cárabos is being carried out and the removal of buried remains or elements is proceeding.

The works consist of the homogeneous redistribution of the sand accumulated in areas of the beach of La Rápica next to the pygon of the south end for its transport to the central area the beach of Hipodromo/Los Cárabos which is the stretch of beach with smaller width, more exposed to seasonal storms and to the effects of the coastal dynamics, recomposing the profiles of the beach through the redistribution of the sand.

As far as Horcas Coloradas is concerned, with a budget of 9,500 euros and a deadline of 20 days, the works consist of the homogeneous redistribution of the existing sand running the tilting that would have occurred due to the effects of the last storms, including the removal of remains of work and debris

In addition, the classification of all the rocky material found in the sand will be carried out as well as municipal solid waste, construction waste…

With a budget of 28,800 euros and a period of 30 days, the wall of the cliffs of the beach of Aguadú is going to be repaired, which is located in the final stretch of the road and whose object is the containment of lands, of the slopes that support the land and the upper road that gives access to that area.

Today, the Director of the Functional Development Area of the Government Delegation in Melilla, Javier Morillas, as well as technicians from the Tragsa Group have traveled to the different trips to get to know first-hand the progress of these works.

For this visit they have also moved to Melilla personnel of the demarcation of Costas de Andalucía -Mediterráneo (Málaga) of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge to supervise the works carried out and deal with future topics such as the tender for the elaboration of the project of the containment of the Alcazaba.
