The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MEyFP) has called for grants for the acquisition of textbooks and didactic and computer material for the academic year 2023-2024, as reported by the Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel.
“All students enrolled in the Primary and Compulsory Secondary stage can receive these scholarships, in the case of Melilla, 12,454 students,” explained the representative of the MEyFP in our city.
This year’s amount has increased to 115 euros and the budget allocated by the MEyFP amounts to 1,440,605 euros, it has indicated and pointed out that the applications and documentation to be provided will be available on the Ministry’s website and the deadline for submitting them will be extended from May 22 to July 27, inclusive.
From the General Subdirectorate of Scholarships, Grants for Study and Educational Promotion, they have transmitted to the Provincial Directorate of Melilla their gratitude for the speed with which they processed the applications for the 2022-2023 academic year, which contributed to the fact that practically all the beneficiaries received the amount of their aid in the month of November.
“I hope that we can achieve this same objective for the next academic year and, for our part, we remain attentive to the efforts being made by the company TRAGSA, for the recruitment of the staff that we requested at the time, so that the incorporation takes place on September 4 to end on November 3, 2023, thereby speeding up the administrative process and so that Melilla families, many of them vulnerable, can count as soon as possible with such study grants,” Berbel said.
