“Today we have reached an important milestone in the road map that Spain and Morocco sealed on April 7. Today we are taking the first step towards the reopening of commercial customs between Spain and Morocco in Melilla.”
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has valued the materialization today of the first commercial expedition to test the Commercial Customs between Spain and Morocco in Melilla, since about 1.30 p.m. today a carrier has crossed from our city to the neighboring country with a load of aluminum.
“Today’s is a first commercial expedition that, on an experimental basis, will allow us to test on the ground the response capacity of the two countries,” explained Moh. Something that “will allow us to gradually and gradually adapt to a new normality that we all want to achieve as soon as possible,” he said.
The High Level Meeting (RAN) between Spain and Morocco, to be held in Rabat, on February 1 and 2, “will be a good time to take the results of this pilot test today from which we will design a calendar that allows trade between the two countries with all the guarantees,” he said.
In the words of the Delegate, “the first step we take today will be followed by others that will incorporate greater complexity and that will subject Customs to greater activity so that they are fully operational in the shortest possible time”.
In this regard, he pointed out that the test initiated today “will indicate the needs in terms of infrastructure, for the implementation of controls and for the deployment of the necessary personnel with which to give a response to the users of this customs that we are beginning to develop today”.
