The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, referred to the new data on affiliation and registered unemployment that we have seen today and that “show a positive behavior of employment, especially in the international context so complex that we live”.
Data that coincide with the first year since the approval, in the Council of Ministers, of Royal Decree-Law 32/2021, for Labor Reform and the modernization of the labor market by the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
“The new labor legislation has served to combat temporality, precariousness and to continue working to guarantee quality jobs,” said the Delegate.
In fact, he wanted to emphasize that this is the commitment of the Executive presided over by Pedro Sánchez: “to continue working for decent, quality jobs and to continue combating precariousness and temporality in Melilla and throughout the country”.
Moh has made this assessment after the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) has announced that the number of unemployed people registered at the end of December has fallen by 438 people in relation to the previous month. In this way, the registered unemployment has reached 8,939 people, falling again below the barrier of the 9,000 unemployed.
The Delegate has also highlighted the fact that, during the month of December, there have been 1,460 contracts, of which 44.3% are indefinite. What is more, 40% of the more than 19,000 contracts that were signed during the last year 2022 have been indefinite.
In addition, the average affiliation to Social Security rises to 24,197 people in our city. 491 members more than the previous month. While the people who are in the Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) for Covid-19 become the lowest since the pandemic began.
