- It represents a growth of 3.4% since the month of August last year, standing at 3,764,340 contributors compared to 3,635,992

Social Security registered in the Community of Madrid 3,764,340 contributors in August, according to data published today by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration. These figures represent a 0.9% decrease in contributors compared to the data for July of this year, with 37,162 contributors less. Although, if we look at the beginning of the year, in January 2026, we see an increase in affiliation that stands at 0.45%, adding 17,187 contributors since January of this same year.
Of the group of affiliates in the Community of Madrid, 3,320,569 belong to the General Regime and are those that register the most important fall with more than 35,800 lost contributors, while the self-employed ones registered fall in 1,340 contributions and remain in more 443,770 affiliates. Of the latter, most subscribe to wholesale and retail trade with more than 74,335 affiliates. On the other hand, it should be noted that the agricultural sector is a sector that decreases in relation to the month, the effect of temporality, and 14,155 in the home services sector, which increases compared to last month.
In the case of the General Social Security System, the average membership has shown a year-on-year growth of 3.65% (117,213). In all sectors, there was a constant growth in affiliation, which was somewhat slowed down; thus in Construction (+2.43%), Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Fisheries (+2.1%), Hotel Management (+4.5), Publishing, Broadcasting and Content Production and Distribution (+1.45%), or Health and Social Services Activities (+4.28%) with more than 13,000 new affiliates in the last year. Also in education it has been above the average in growth of affiliation with 4.05% of new high school workers.
Also, the public administration and defense has contributed to the rise of affiliation in this last year with more than 20,000 new affiliates, 8.27% more than last year.
As for non-professional caregivers, their affiliation continues to grow both annually, monthly and in both sexes. Currently, in the Community of Madrid, as non-professional caregivers there are 10,345 affiliates compared to 8,905 a year ago. A sector with a clear female profile as indicated by the figures, since women currently represent 85.8% of the caregiver affiliates.
