- It's about the commissioner José Antonio Mateos Martín, whose last destination has been the Training and Improvement Division of the National Police.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, today presided over the inauguration of the new head of the local National Police Station of Leganés, Commissioner José Antonio Mateos Martín.
The event was attended by, among other authorities, the mayor of Leganés, Miguel Ángel Recuenco; the superior head of the National Police in Madrid, Javier María Galván Ruiz; institutional representatives and business and civil representatives of the town.
Francisco Martín wanted to highlight that the inauguration of the new commissioner marks “the beginning of a new stage” in the National Police in a municipality like Leganés, whose crime rate is ten points below the average of the Madrid Community, which allows us to affirm that Leganés is “a safe city in the context of a safe region”.
To this has contributed, he pointed out, the investment made by the Government of Spain that has allowed to reach an historic maximum of troops: 11% more from 2018, which means growth above the population growth.
Likewise, Francisco Martín thanked the work of “all the police who are in the front line of public service” and reminded them that the uniform they wear “is more than a profession, it is a guarantor of freedom and justice”. “Your work is decisive so that millions of people can live without fear,” he said.
In addition, he reiterated his commitment and that of the Government Delegation to work together with all administrations in favor of a security that “the neighbors of Leganés well deserve”.
