- It includes the improvement and expansion along 3.2 km, between km 12 and 15,200 of the A-4, of the side roads, of the interconnection of the motorway with municipal roads and with the industrial polygons of Los Molinos and San Marcos.
- The traffic conditions of the A-4 and the quality of public transport services will be substantially improved, reducing journey times and ensuring greater regularity.
The Council of Ministers has today authorised the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to tender for an estimated value of 40 million euros (VAT not included) the contract for works to improve the accessibility of public transport on the A-4 motorway, between the industrial estates of Los Molinos (km 12) and San Marcos (km 15,200 upper pass, Avda. Leonardo da Vinci), as he passed through Getafe in the Community of Madrid.
The planned actions will substantially improve the conditions of circulation of the A-4 as well as the quality of public passenger transport services, reducing travel times and ensuring greater regularity. Thus, the following works are going to be executed:
On the right side of the A-4, direction exit towards Andalusia:
- Lateral track of one, two or three lanes, according to the sections, between the km 12,350 and 13,750.
- Roundabout with a lane from the side road, in order to facilitate access to the polygon of San Marcos.
- Transformation of the existing link with the M-406 road into a diamond-like link with weights, adding a symmetrical western roundabout to the existing one.
On the left side of the A-4, towards the entrance to Madrid:
- Third lane from the vicinity of km 15,35 to the access area to the facilities of the Los Angeles Hotel and the adjacent service station.
- New branch of incorporation from the existing roundabout (with the M-406) to the lateral track.
Other noteworthy performances:
- Demolition of the pedestrian walkway located at km 13,13 and replacement by a new pedestrian walkway at km 13,1 that saves the main vials with a single vain.
- Second runway at km 15,030 for the replacement of the footpath of San Marcos, which will also service the two bus stops located in the area.
- Remodeling of the access from the C/ Eratosthenes to the side road (optimizing the access to the Airbus facilities).
Relocation of two bus stops on each side track so that its position is compatible with the planned performances.
Improvement of the State Road Network in Madrid
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is working intensively to improve the State Road Network in the Community of Madrid and, related to this action, recently awarded 4.16 million euros for the drafting of the project to improve road safety and public transport in the Community of Madrid. motorway A-5 in Madrid and Alcorcón, where another investment of 132 million euros is planned. In addition, the last steps are taken to activate the Bus-VAO of the A-2.
In this regard, two contracts for road maintenance have also been awarded for more than 70 million euros. A-1 and N-1A and in A-1, N-320, M-12, A-1A, M-110 and N-1A; the upper pass on the A-6, in Torrelodones, has been opened to light vehicle traffic after the work rehabilitation for just over EUR 4 million.
Also and, to give a final example, within the framework of the Recovery Plan, work is being done on the sound insulation of AP-6 in Collado Villalba, Alpedrete and Guadarrama for a million euros.
