- The action involves traffic disruptions on the night of Wednesday 12 and on November 14, 15 and 16.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is carrying out the repair and replacement works of the top pass board that gives access to the M-40 (in the northern sense) from the Sanchinarro neighborhood, in Madrid, at the height of kilometer 1.85 of the M-40.
To carry out the planned actions it is necessary to carry out work on the structure of the upper pass, which has required the cutting of traffic on the aforementioned upper pass since the night of last October 12. This cut will be extended until the complete completion of the work. The incorporation from Sanchinarro to the M-40 sense North is done through the Avenue of Niceto Alcalá Zamora, the Avenue of Santo Domingo de la Calzada and the Avenue of the Camino de Santiago.
In the first phase of the works, carried out between November 8 and 10, the disassembly of the board on the interior roadway and the service road of the M-40 was executed.
The second phase of the replacement works will consist of the dismantling of the panel on the exterior road and the service road, and will be carried out during this night of 12 November and days 14, 15 and 16 November. Due to this, the following affectations will occur:
- Between 22:00h on Wednesday 12 to 18:00h on Sunday 16 November:
- Exit 2-A of the M-40 outside towards the A-1 direction Burgos, will be closed.
- Alternate Itinerary 1: Take the A-1 direction Madrid and make the change of direction in the roundabout of Las Tablas to later take the A-1 direction Burgos.
- Alternative Itinerary 2: Take exit 3 from the M-40 towards the M-11 and later join the A-1 with Burgos sense.
- Between 21:00 on Friday 14th and 18:00 on Sunday 16th November:
- Cut of the inner road of the M-40 (Southern sense):
- The traffic will be diverted to the side service road from which you can take the 2-A to the M-11 and continue on the M-40 South direction making a change of direction in the Glorieta de Hortaleza.
- Cutting off the M-40’s exterior driveway (North direction)
The traffic of the M-40 North will be diverted at exit 3 of the M-40 towards the M-11, being able to return to the M-40 via the M-11 and A-1.
Traffic from the M-40 towards the R-2 toll road is restricted from the M-40, being able to take the same exit 3, accessing the R-2 through the M-11 and A-1 direction Burgos.
The Exit 3 from la M-11 towards M-40 North and A-1 will be cut off. The traffic must remain on the M-11 and take the exit 0B towards the M-40 direction North and A-1
The M-40’s exterior driveway (north direction) will be marked with reduced width lanes that will be properly marked until the board is dismantled. Caution is recommended in the circulation in the area.
The hours of traffic cuts may have some modifications to adjust to the operations of disassembly and transfer of the structure.
Once the board has been disassembled from the structure, it will proceed to the rehabilitation in stacks and stirrups and later to the placement of the new board.
