The town of Paracuellos del Jarama has held today its Local Security Board to take stock of the evolution of security in the municipality during the last year and prepare the special device of the Christmas holidays.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Subdelegate of the Government to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the Mayor of Paracuellos del Jarama, Jesús Muñoz Muñoz, and was attended by members of the municipal government team and representatives of the Local Police, the Civil Guard, Civil Protection and the Community of Madrid.
The attendees have begun analyzing the main indicators of criminality that continue to place Paracuellos del Jarama as a safe municipality, with a crime rate located at 33.7 in June 2025. Although the year-on-year comparison shows a slight increase of 0.95 points, the indicator remains well below the Community of Madrid average of 56.2, according to the latest Crime Balance of the Secretary of State for June 2025.
Next, the special device for the Christmas holidays that will ensure the safety of neighbors and visitors of the municipality of Madrid has been revised in the development of the program of celebrations prepared by the Consistory and that begins today, November 28, with the lighting.
In particular, they have stopped in the specific operations for the New Year’s Eve party, which will take place in the tent of Urano Street, and the traditional Cavalcade of Kings. Among other points, it has addressed the reinforcement of troops, the cutting of streets to guarantee mobility and the measures of control of access to the areas and enclosures with greater public influx.
The subdelegate has thanked the involvement and good coordination between the Local Police and the Civil Guard that make Paracuellos del Jarama a safe municipality every day of the year, work especially visible on dates such as Christmas.
Finally, the subdelegate stressed the importance of the municipality valuing its adherence to the Ministry of the Interior’s VioGén Comprehensive Monitoring System for Cases of Gender Violence, which would strengthen the work against gender violence in order to improve and make more effective the prevention and care of victims.
