The Government Delegation in Madrid has postponed two weeks the realization of commemorative murals for 50 years of freedom scheduled this Saturday, November 15, due to adverse weather conditions.
The initiative, which has been joined by some thirty municipalities in Madrid, will finally be held on Saturday, November 29. The activity, which is part of the commemorative program “Spain in freedom, 50 years”, was originally scheduled for this Saturday, November 15th. However, the adverse weather conditions foreseen by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), with widespread rainfall throughout the Community of Madrid, have forced its postponement.
Under the name “Murals in freedom” The activity will consist of the elaboration of collective murals in the participating municipalities simultaneously. The neighbors who want to participate will be able to design their own ‘avatar’ and capture it through a technique of template and spray, in a collaborative mural guided by an artistic coordinator.
In the words of the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, it will be a festive day so that "neighbors and neighbors, children, associations, educational centers and anyone who wishes can participate in the realization of a mural that represents democratic values, coexistence and freedom. A shared symbol of memory, unity and commitment to freedom, values that for five decades have sustained our democracy.”
