- Within the round of meetings promoted by the government delegate to fight against sexual violence from all areas
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has continued this week his agenda of meetings to combat sexual violence in the Community of Madrid with two new meetings with the National Office against Sexual Violence, ONVIOS; and the General Labour Inspectorate of Madrid.
Accompanied at both meetings by the deputy delegate of the Government, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, received on Monday Belén Crego and Alicia Sánchez, representatives of ONVIOS, with whom he could address the statistics and evolution of the problem in the region. In order to improve the understanding and police operation of these crimes, the Office has a comprehensive system for the registration, monitoring and prevention of sexual crimes (ONVIOS System).
Today, Thursday, the meeting was with Javier Cerrolaza, territorial director and head of the Provincial Labour and Social Security Inspectorate of Madrid. The meeting analyzed situations of workplace harassment, sexual harassment and violence at work.
It has also stressed the importance of strengthening the mechanisms for early detection and coordination between the Labour Inspectorate and the State Security Forces and Corps, in order to ensure a comprehensive and effective response to cases of harassment and violence in the workplace.
Institutions, social and political actors
So far in October, the government delegate has also held meetings with representatives of the CCOO and UGT trade unions to analyze the state of the matter in the workplace, as well as with the institution of the Ombudsman.
The meetings are part of the meetings promoted since 2024 by the government delegate with the aim of promoting collaboration between administrations and social agents to stop sexual violence in the region, strengthening the lines of collaboration in prevention, care and protection.
So far this year, more than 20 meetings have been held with representatives of institutions, professional associations, business associations, professional organizations and political formations, as well as specialized units of the National Police (UFAM) and Civil Guard (EMUME).
