The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Secretariat of the Commissioner for the Circular Economy, has published the resolution of the call for applications for the textile, fashion and footwear sector, within the PERTE of Circular Economy and the Next Generation EU funds.
In the same, an application from a company based in the Community of Madrid has been beneficial. This is the joint initiative of the Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo (Humana) and the Centre de Gestió Mediambiental, S.L., consisting of the investment of 9,687,212.54 euros, of which 2,913,116.56 euros will be subsidized at the Humana plant in Leganés, to develop innovative intelligent classification technologies, increasing the percentage of textile material destined for reuse, while at the same time carrying out the high-quality recycling of the non-reusable fraction, after being transferred to the CGM plant in Igualada (Barcelona).
More than 30 million in grants throughout Spain
At the national level, this call has 37 beneficiary projects that bring together 40 entities in total: 6 in grouping mode and 31 in individual mode. The total amount of aid is 30.05 million euros, which will generate a total investment of 74.9 million euros.
The Circular Economy EERP in its entirety plans to grant aid worth 492 million euros, and it is expected to mobilize resources in excess of 1.2 billion until 2026.
The objective is to promote a transition from the current linear economic model based on the unsustainable sequence of extracting, producing, consuming and throwing towards another in which the ecological footprint is reduced and the value of materials is maintained, promoting actions such as the prevention of the use of resources and the generation of waste, the reuse of products and the recycling of materials.
