The City Council of Titulcia has signed the constitution of its Local Security Board with the presence of the subdelegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, along with the mayor of the municipality, Francisca Suárez Roldán. At the same time, the security plan has been formulated that will be maintained during the celebration of the patron saint’s festivities that begin on August 28, although the previous acts will begin tomorrow, August 23.
The subdelegate of the Government has requested extreme caution with the use of fireworks, warning that these could be suspended depending on the evolution of the risk of forest fires in the region.
Security coordination for parties
The Security Corps and Forces have collaborated in the drafting of the security plan for the holidays. The Civil Guard recommends restricting access with potentially dangerous objects such as glass containers, bottles with caps and cans, to the most crowded areas in order to prevent incidents. The west access of the municipality will have specific traffic and transit controls, since the rest of the areas already have active surveillance.
They have also considered it necessary to install bollards in the main entrances of the festive venue to reinforce security, since during the festivities free concerts have been scheduled in their square where groups such as OBK, Ochenteros or performances of Soraya, on their twentieth tour, and Jorge González, among others, are announced. In any case, if the attendance was greater than 5,000 people, the delimitation of the airspace during the events would be established.
There are also hollow younger sticks of the house with a preference of water, foam, magic and circus and it will continue in the holidays with enclosures, trenecitos and a giant toboggan.
To strengthen safety, they have also pointed out the installation of mobile cameras in the municipal football sports hall to control possible concentrations related to alcohol consumption and avoid incidents and accidents.
Violet Point
A Violet Point will be enabled as a space for attention, prevention and awareness of sexual assaults.
Citizen awareness
Titulcia has recorded a 3.5% increase in crime compared to the previous year, although this increase is due to a single crime. Due to the low population density in the municipality, any infraction represents a significant percentage change. It should be noted that these are not serious crimes. With regard to crimes against property, six infractions have been recorded, which, within the general context, is considered a positive situation.
The local police have pointed to an increase in the reporting of minor offences, which is attributed to greater public awareness. Previously, many incidents were reported informally to the Local Police, while now neighbors file formal complaints, contributing to more accurate statistics.
The constitution of the Local Security Board has involved representatives of the Civil Guard, the Community of Madrid and members of the Municipal Corporation.
