The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has co-chaired with the mayor of Manzanares El Real, Alicia Gallego Buzón, the Local Security Board in order to coordinate the security device before the August Festivities of the municipality.
Previously, the security data of the municipality have been analyzed, verifying that it is one of the safest localities in the Community of Madrid, with a crime rate of 29.63, 27 points below the average of the Community of Madrid, located at 56.5. In this regard, Francisco Martín Aguirre thanked “the citizen collaboration, as well as the work of the Local Police and the Civil Guard, who have contributed to the positive evolution in the last year.”
During the meeting, the specific plans for coordination and special collaboration on the occasion of the festivities that will be held from 1 to 5 August have been reviewed. City Council, Civil Guard and Local Police have reviewed some of the keys to the development of major events within the programming, focusing on security and mobility. For its part, the Consistory has explained its commitment to have 10 local police each night, 7 of its own and 3 of other municipalities, who will join the Civil Guard agents who will ensure the safe development of the festivities.
A municipality committed against Gender Violence
The government delegate wanted to congratulate the municipality for its commitment against Gender Violence. The town has been incorporated into the VioGén System since February 2024, with nine users of its Local Police enabled.
Martín explained that, after the entry into force of the new VioGén 2, it will be necessary to update the procedures and strengthen the role of the Local Police. This seeks to strengthen the protection of victims and improve coordination between institutions.
