- The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has recognized the importance of having this tool to strengthen security
The town of Becerril de la Sierra has today proceeded to the constitution of its Local Security Board in order to facilitate the cooperation and operational coordination of the Security Forces and Bodies that intervene in the municipal term.
The constitutive session was chaired by the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of the municipality, José Luis Martín, who were accompanied by members of the municipal government, representatives of the Civil Guard, the Local Police, and the Community of Madrid.
Francisco Martín highlighted the “important step” that Becerril de la Sierra is taking today, with which he will be able to count on a “fundamental tool” to improve security, and thanked the mayor for his commitment to this matter.
He also recalled the usefulness demonstrated by this coordinating body that has allowed the evolution of security indices in the region to be positive, together with the record numbers of police personnel reached in recent years.
In addition, for the summer period, the staff of both the National Police and the Civil Guard are reinforced, in the context of the Summer 2025 Plan, to face the important impact that seasonality has in some points of the Community, as is the case of the mountains, in recreational areas, leisure and natural spaces such as the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.

Local Security Boards are police coordination and collaboration bodies with a favourable impact on public security that constitute a mechanism capable of establishing means and systems of relationship, in order to achieve a certain homogeneity and make possible joint actions of mutual collaboration and reciprocal cooperation.
At the same time, not only the operational but also informative coordination bodies, providing channels for channeling the affected social and institutional sectors, in the correct planning of public security, which undoubtedly results in a greater rapprochement between society and Security Forces and Bodies and, consequently, a better protection by them of the free exercise of public rights and freedoms recognized constitutionally.
