The City of San Martín de Valdeiglesias has analyzed the surveillance and security devices established during the summer months in the context of the Local Security Board that has been held today.
Co-chaired by the sub-delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, and the mayor of the town, Aránzazu Povedano, has had the presence of representatives of the municipal government, the Civil Guard, the Local Police and the Community of Madrid.
During the meeting, several issues have been reviewed, such as breaches of the ban on bathing in the Picadas reservoir, the closure of vehicle traffic to certain areas in times of high fire danger or the evaluation of the high degree of forest fire in recreational areas.
A review has also been made of the evolution of criminality in the year 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, which shows a positive result, since criminal offenses have decreased (especially as the infractions against heritage decrease). This means that so far in 2025, the crime rate has improved compared to 2024 by 0.22 points, standing at 50.33 points, much lower than the CAM average (56.5) according to the Secretary of State’s Crime Balance in March 2025.
The Government’s deputy delegate also thanked the FCSE for the good work that made these data possible, as well as the commitment of the municipality in the fight against gender violence. Its Local Police has been fully incorporated into the VioGén system for monitoring and protecting victims since November 16, 2015, having already renewed its integration twice.
