- In two days he has held meetings with María Luisa Carcedo (Council of State), Lorena Morales (Madrid Assembly) and specialized units of National Police and Civil Guard
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has reactivated this week the round of meetings with social actors and institutions expert in sexual violence.
Yesterday, she held two meetings with the president of the ninth section of the Council of State, María Luisa Carcedo Roces, and with the spokesperson of the Commission on Women of the Socialist Group in the Madrid Assembly and Secretary of Equality of the PSOE of Madrid, Lorena Morales Porro.
Today’s meeting was with leaders of the Family and Women Care Units of the National Police (UFAM) and the Woman-Minor Teams of the Civil Guard (EMUME).
All these meetings were also attended by Eva Corrales, head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid.
The government delegate has already announced his intention to resume these meetings during the presentation of the last crime balance in the region and, as on the previous occasion, they are motivated by the detected increase in the number of complaints of sexual violence.
Francisco Martín relates the sustained increase in this type of crime in recent years with a progressive decrease in the “hidden figure”, linked not so much to an increase in the acts committed but to an increase in the denunciations for the active policies of awareness and reduction of social and personal tolerance against this type of crime.
However, the government delegate wants to follow closely the evolution of these figures, which is why he has resumed these meetings.
During the past year, she received, among other social actors and institutions, the Federation of Young Women, the Association of Women Lawyers Themis or the Federation of Associations for Assistance to Victims of Sexual and Gender Violence.
