The Government Delegation in Madrid continues its program of activities for the celebration of Open Administration Week with a visit open to the public this Thursday, May 22, to the Border Control Post (PCF) of the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport.
Attendees will be able to know at first hand the activity developed in these facilities dedicated to the inspection of import and export products that leave or enter Spain through the Madrid airport. Among its functions is to ensure that products of animal and vegetable origin for human consumption have all the sanitary precautions or the control of the entry and exit of medicinal and cosmetic genera.

In figures, the activity of the Border Control Post translates into more than 70,000 files managed per year and 54 daily inspection visits throughout the facilities. The data reflect a notable increase in all services during 2024 with 27,109 cases processed in External Health (+14%), 14,373 in Animal Health (+16%) and 28,614 (+17%) in Plant Health. In addition, the PCF was responsible in 2024 for the control of more than 6,000 postal parcels, 96% more than in 2023.
