Twenty citizens have been able to expand their knowledge about the competences of the Government Delegation, and about the architectural value of its headquarters, with their attendance at the Open Day that it has hosted today and that is part of the activities organized to celebrate Open Administration Week.
The delegate of the Government of Spain to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín; the subdelegate of the Government, Pilar Trinidad; and the Secretary General of the Delegation, Pablo Izquierdo, thanked the participants for their presence and shared with them details of the daily work carried out by the public employees of the Government Delegation, many times unknown but with great impact on the citizen life of the region, and on the important role of institutional representation carried out by its holder.
In addition, a video has been shown in which examples of procedures and procedures carried out by the Government Delegation have been shown so that attendees could relate them to this agency of the peripheral administration. Among others: protection and coordination in matters of violence against women and their victims; actions in matters of citizen security and civil protection; competences for the social and labour integration of foreigners residing in the Community and which include, among others, the granting of residence permits and homologation of foreign studies; the homologation of non-university studies; the control of human consumption products at the airport or the procedure that allows the installation of photovoltaic plants in the territory of the region.
Visit to Borghetto Palace
This day is part of the activities planned for the Open Administration Week, and has included a guided tour of the Palacete that houses the headquarters of the Government Delegation, a building from the beginning of the 20th century (1919) known as the Palace of the Marquises of Borghetto.
They have been shown the rooms of what used to be the family residence of the marquises, some of which retain part of the original decoration, and explained the uses they have today, as well as the different vicissitudes through which the building has passed since its inauguration, in 1919, until the current era.
For an Open Administration
Open Government Week aims to organize events to bring Public Administrations closer to citizens, based on the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration.
It is an initiative promoted worldwide by the Open Gov Week, which in 2024 was held between 10 and 16 June, coordinated and promoted by the General Directorate of Public Governance, with the collaboration of the Open Gov Forum.
