- Co-chaired by the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of the municipality, Candelaria Testa.
- On the other hand, the delegate has anticipated that the security data of the municipality recorded a positive evolution in the first quarter of 2025.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, co-chaired this morning the Local Security Board of Alcorcón together with the mayor of the municipality, Candelaria Testa, convened in an extraordinary session to address the problems of coexistence registered in the street Prague of the town.
In addition to members of the government team, the meeting was attended by representatives of the National Police of the Alcorcón police station and the Local Police, with whom the coordination of new measures to address this problem has been considered.
For his part, Francisco Martín has shown his willingness to collaborate at the police level to improve the situation but, at the same time, he has pointed out the need to complement security policies with other social measures.
For this reason, it has reiterated the need for involvement and cooperation between institutions for the development of comprehensive action plans, since, in its opinion, police work in itself does not resolve the fundamental issues.
Positive evolution of security data
The government delegate wanted to highlight that, despite this specific problem, the security data of the municipality reflect a positive evolution. In 2024, Alcorcón reduced its crime rate by four points compared to 2023 (from 44.1 to 40.1), well below the Community of Madrid average.
This downward trend is also confirmed in the first quarter of 2025, according to data from the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State for Security that will be released soon.
