The town of San Fernando de Henares improved its security data in 2024 compared to the previous year, registering a decrease of 5.8% in its crime rate, as has been exposed today in the Local Security Board of the municipality.
Co-chaired by the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor of San Fernando de Henares, Javier Corpa, have also attended: the 1st deputy mayor and councilor for Security, Leticia Martín; the commissioner of the National Police Corps of Coslada and San Fernando de Henares, Francisco Alcalá; the head of the Local Police Corps of the City of San Fernando de Henares, Gabriel Toledano, and a representative of the Community of Madrid.
These data place the crime rate of San Fernando de Henares “14 points below the average of the Community of Madrid”, a figure that the government delegate wants to move away from triumphalism but that he considers directly related to the good collaboration between FCSE and the collective success of the government team and the neighbors, who have managed to create “a dynamic of coexistence” that improves each year the security data of the municipality.
The reports on the situation of citizen security and the evolution of criminality have also revealed a significant increase in the percentage of clarified crimes and police effectiveness, and a 5.4% decrease in crimes against heritage and socioeconomic order, which are among those that most influence the subjective assessment of security by citizens.
Likewise, Francisco Martín has reiterated his appreciation to both the National Police and the Local Police for the willingness shown during the flood episode that affected San Fernando de Henares and that allowed us not to have to regret personal damage.
With regard to the material losses, he recalled that the Government has already proceeded to the declaration of an area seriously affected by a Civil Protection emergency in this municipality and others in the Community of Madrid, which will also be able to count on the aid of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory to subsidize the expenses caused by infrastructure repairs. All with the objective that the full normality will recover as soon as possible.
Employer Party Security Plan
During the Board, the security plan designed for the municipality’s patron saint’s festivities, which will be held on May 29 and 30, has been presented. The government delegate congratulated the Local Police for the document he prepared with the details of the device, and highlighted the measures contained in the one that includes the installation of two violet dots to prevent and intervene quickly and effectively in the event of any case of aggression or gender violence.
This detail is another example of the commitment in the fight against gender violence of the municipality, evidenced also through the full incorporation of its Local Police to the VioGén system of monitoring and protection of women victims since March 13, 2025.
