The Local Security Board of Chinchón has today approved the Security Plan that will be launched during the celebration of the Medieval Market of the town, between February 28 and March 2.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Government’s deputy delegate in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, and the mayor of the municipality, Juan Antonio Vega, together with representatives of the Civil Guard and the Local Police.
Due to the large influx of expected visitors, around 20,000 each day, the security plan contemplates the strengthening of the police presence, the regulation of traffic and emergency measures to ensure the proper development of the celebration. Among the novelties this year, the area available for posts has been extended further and the space has been separated from the children's area
The Medieval Market of Chinchón is one of the most outstanding events of the year in the municipality and has become a tourist reference in the Community of Madrid. During its development, the historic center is transformed into a period stage with street shows, tournaments, exhibitions of falconry and more than a hundred craft and gastronomy stalls.
