- Co-chaired by government delegate Francisco Martín and local mayor José Luis Adell
The municipality of Navalcarnero has today signed the “Operational Procedure of Coordination and Collaboration between the Command of the Civil Guard of Madrid and the City of Navalcarnero, of integral response against gender violence”, with which it advances in the process of integration of its Local Police in the VioGén system of integral protection of victims of gender violence.
The Police Coordination Bureau has also been set up to monitor cooperation in this area.
Francisco Martín considers that the incorporation into the system is “a fundamental step” in the demonstration of the “maximum” commitment of the City of Navalcarnero in the fight against gender violence, and has defended that these actions contribute to “reinforce the message of unity” towards women victims of gender violence and encourage other women to “take the step and put themselves in the hands of the State Security Forces.”
It was in the course of the Local Security Board that the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor of Navalcarnero, José Luis Adell, co-chaired and followed up on August 30 with the signing of the accession to the “Protocol of Collaboration and Coordination between the State Security Forces and the Local Police for the Protection of Victims of Domestic and Gender Violence”.
In addition, three local police officers attended the training action on gender violence organized by the Government Delegation ' s Unit for Coordination against Violence against Women on 15 October.
Crime balance
During the session, the crime data of the municipality corresponding to the first semester of the year has also been taken into account. During the same period, the total rate decreased by 4.4, thanks to the decrease in both conventional crime (-2.4) and cybercrime (-9.6).
This puts Navalcarnero’s crime rate at 47.6 points, well below the Community of Madrid average (60.1). This data is due, in the opinion of Francisco Martín, to the “good line” of collaboration maintained by the Civil Guard and Local Police in Navalcarnero, whom he wanted to thank and recognize his work.
