The Government Delegation in Madrid will activate a security device composed of about 1,100 troops for the match of the third day of the league phase of the Champions League 2024/25 that will play tomorrow Wednesday, October 23, Atletico Madrid and Lille, in the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium, from 21:00 hours. This meeting has been classified as high-risk by the Anti-Violence Commission.
The operation, which will be responsible for monitoring the areas surrounding the stadium to prevent incidents, will be made up of National Police agents —coming from the Police Intervention Unit, the Special Cavalry Unit and the Provincial Information Brigade—; the Civil Guard, for the regulation of traffic at the accesses to the stadium; the Municipal Police of Madrid; Mobility Agents of the Madrid City Council; components of the SAMUR-Civil Protection; the Fire Brigade; members of the Red Cross, and security guards and auxiliaries of the football club itself.
Nearly a thousand French fans are expected to attend with a ticket, in a stadium that will exceed three quarters of the entrance.
To expedite the work of the agents, it is recommended that all stadium attendees attend in advance to pass the established security controls.
