The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, attended today the commemoration of the Day of Victory on Nazism organized by the Association of Descendants of Spanish Exile (ADEE) in the cemetery of Fuencarral.
It is a tribute to the Spaniards who fought for the freedom of Europe that has been taking place for two decades and in which representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and the Government participate. This year, the president of ADEE, Pilar Nova, and, for the closing, the general director of Attention to Victims and Promotion of Democratic Memory, Zoraida Hijosa, spoke.
The event has included the reading of several poems about exile and a floral offering before the memorial to the International Brigades.
The Association of Descendants of Spanish Exile brings together people who suffered exile directly or indirectly to reclaim the example of several generations of republican exile as a lesson in ethics for current and future generations.
