The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has co-chaired today together the mayor of Rivas Vaciamadrid, Aida Castillejo, the Local Security Board of the municipality, convened to examine the security device planned for the patron saint’s festivities, which will be held from May 11 to 19.
In addition to members of the municipal corporation, representatives of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, of the Community of Madrid and of Civil Protection of the municipality participated in the meeting.
We have also taken stock of the crime data for the year 2023, during which there was a decrease in conventional crime, below the regional average.
Francisco Martín pointed out that this is the result of the good work carried out by the State Security Forces and Corps in the locality, to whom he thanked their effort and dedication.
Collaboration against gender violence
She also wished to point out that this joint work of the Civil Guard and Local Police also extends to the field of protection of victims of gender violence, after last November, the signing of the Coordination Protocol and the approval of the Operational Procedure for Coordination and Collaboration for the full incorporation of its Local Police into the VioGén System for the comprehensive follow-up of cases of gender violence.
In this way, the Local Police of Rivas shares the data that the Civil Guard has on cases of gender violence in the municipality and participates in its follow-up for a more effective protection of victims of gender violence.
Currently, there are already 37 municipalities in Madrid whose local police collaborate fully with the State Security Forces and Corps within the framework of the VioGén system for monitoring women victims of gender violence. The government delegate’s goal is to get everyone back on board within a year.
